As part of IT Services’ ongoing work against cyber threats, from Monday 8th November Duo Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) will be extended to Shibboleth, the service which verifies University members for access to Library resources and software downloads.

You might already be familiar with Duo 2FA as it is currently enabled on a number of University services, including Office 365 and Apps Anywhere, to provide an additional layer of security beyond a username and password.

If you have already enrolled your device, you don't need to take any further action. If you have not yet enrolled your mobile for Duo 2FA, simply follow these steps:

  1. Download the Duo Mobile app from the Apple App store or Google Play
  2. Visit the University Duo enrolment portal to enrol your mobile device

We are grateful for your cooperation in helping us to keep our University systems secure. If you have any difficulty setting up or using Duo Two-Factor Authentication, please contact IT Services.
