The libraries are a welcoming space for the University community and we hope that all users have a great experience when visiting. If you’re using the libraries or any other available study spaces on campus, we ask that you look after them and respect your Library neighbours.
As part of our safety measures, we're not currently able to offer a face-to-face enquiry service in our libraries. However, we have provided PCs at the reception desks so that you can contact us via online chat if you encounter any issues when using the libraries. You can also email us or call us on 0151 794 9500 9am - 9:30pm weekdays and 12 - 5pm at weekends and find us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Please be mindful of your Library neighbours and set your phone to silent when you enter the library and only take calls in areas of the Library where you won't disturb others.
Please also respect others by not talking or causing disruption in quiet or silent study areas of the Library. If you need to use a study space to attend an online lecture due to poor Wi-Fi at home, we recommend that you book a space in the School of Law and Social Justice building and wear headphones.
You can eat snacks and hot and cold drinks in both libraries apart from in some clearly marked areas.
Our main priority is to make the Library's services and resources available while keeping everyone safe. As well as the one-way directional systems; hand sanitisers and cleaning wipes in all areas of the Library; and book return boxes so that books can be quarantined before they are returned to the bookshelves, we also ask that you take responsibility for keeping yourself and other users safe.
For the safety of our colleagues and other users, it is mandatory to wear a face mask while inside the library.
We also ask that you:
