Library 2020 Round Up

by University of Liverpool Library on 2020-12-14T16:51:00+00:00 | 0 Comments

Desks in the Harold Cohen Library

2020 - the year of zoom calls, virtual quizzes and attending lectures in your pyjamas.

It’s fair to say that this year has been unlike any other and we’re incredibly proud of the way that you have all responded to the unprecedented circumstances that we have faced in 2020.

The year began like any other: January exams, Library on Tour and the usual start of semester two.

Then came COVID-19.

March saw us all shift from visiting the libraries every day between lectures or for late night study sessions, to the first full closure of the libraries since they opened.

The Library, like the rest of the University, was forced to adapt and act quickly to ensure that we were able to offer the same excellent service that you’re used to, within the context of the ‘new normal’.

Despite the temporary closure of the libraries in the first national lockdown, we have remained an ever present support service for students both on and off campus, in Liverpool and further afield.

Here’s a rundown of a year in the Library, COVID edition (best sung to the tune of ’The Twelve Days of Christmas’)!
