Library Christmas Opening Hours and Services

by University of Liverpool Library on 2020-12-04T11:14:04+00:00 | 0 Comments

This year, the Library is extending the usual Christmas opening times to ensure that you have access to the libraries when you need them. If you are remaining on campus or in Liverpool throughout December, the libraries will provide a safe space for you to study during the holiday period.

Christmas Opening Hours

Bookable study spaces will be available from 10am to midnight daily until Sunday 20th December.

From Monday 21st December to Sunday 3rd January, the library will be extending its usual holiday period opening times to provide more study spaces for students. Please see below for winter break opening hours:

  • Monday 21st - Thursday 24th December 10am - 8pm
  • Christmas Day - CLOSED
  • Saturday 26th - Thursday 31st December 10am - 8pm
  • New Years Day - CLOSED
  • Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd January 10am - 8pm

Library services during the Christmas period

Borrowing books via Click and Collect will continue in both libraries until Sunday 20th December. The Click and Collect service will not be available throughout the winter break and will resume on Monday 4th January.

During the winter break, we encourage you to keep hold of any books that you have borrowed and return them to the libraries in the new year. If you do wish to return books over the Christmas period, books can be returned to either Library for drop off in the book return boxes on any of the days that the Library is open during the Christmas period.

All of our online resources such as databases, e-books and e-journals will continue to be available 24 hours a day and you can access support via our online enquiry service 24/7 during the winter break.

You can also join online academic support sessions run by KnowHow until 16th December to help you with everything from writing essays to referencing.

If you are self-isolating, you can still access lots of Library resources and service online. Take a look at our guide to using the library for students who are self-isolating.

Keeping everyone safe

It is important that all Library users continue to adhere to our health and safety policies when using the libraries.

You are required to wear a face mask at all times inside the libraries, unless you are medically exempt from doing so. You must also practise social distancing at all times even if you are from the same household or bubble and only sit at the desk space that you have booked.

Read more about how you can help to keep our libraries safe.
