Reading List training for academics

by University of Liverpool Library on 2020-12-02T11:09:12+00:00 | 0 Comments

Pile of books and e-reader

We're running our popular Reading Lists @ Liverpool training to help staff prepare module reading for Semester Two. RL@L gives students streamlined access to the resources you recommend.

With the focus on hybrid learning we understand the importance of online resources to you and your students. We have moved to an e-first policy so wherever possible will source electronic copies. The Library relies on your engagement with RL@L to ensure we have the material available for students to complete their research and studies.

To make sure the library has the material you need for your module, we need you to:

  • Update student numbers on the list
  • Assign an “importance” to each item on the list (Key, Recommended, Background)
  • Regularly check the list is up to date and send it for “review”

On completion of your review, you will receive a report from the Library detailing any actions that have been taken, including whether eBooks are available.

Reinvigorating Reading Lists for Teaching and Learning

The training will cover the practical steps outlined as well as illustrating ways to maximise the impact of reading lists and increase student engagement. We will consider the pedagogy of reading lists and how academics and the library can support students using the resources available, drawing on existing best practice.

If you can’t make any of these dates but would like to find out more please contact your Liaison Librarian. You can find more information about RL@L via our Library Guide and instructions in the Guide for Module Coordinators.
