Using the Library as lockdown restrictions begin to ease

In line with the latest easing of national restrictions in England from 12th April, the University has reopened some of its on-campus services such as the Sports Centre and the Guild of Students.

There will be no immediate changes to the libraries, which have remained open throughout the last few months of lockdown, and current library services will continue to be available, including:

Extending our services

In addition to our current services, we will be looking to extend the availability of our Click & Collect and other support services over the next few weeks. Some of our academic support services, including our KnowHow Academic Skills workshops, are beginning to offer some in-person support sessions as part of the University’s Summer Term Events Programme, as well as their continued programme of online sessions so you can attend virtually or on-campus, depending on where you are studying.

Health and safety rules

Although there may be more students returning to campus over the coming weeks, please continue to prioritise the safety of both yourselves and our staff as you are still required to adhere to the latest public health guidance when using on-campus facilities. This includes getting regular tests, wearing a face covering inside the libraries and continuing to follow social distancing rules at all times. Find out more about on-campus safety measures on our COVID Safety hub.

Please also remember that if you hear the fire alarm while studying in the libraries that you should not assume that it is a test and you should leave promptly and calmly to ensure the safety of yourselves and other students and staff.
