Christmas opening hours for the Harold Cohen and Sydney Jones Libraries

Festive Library Opening Hours

As we approach the festive period, opening hours for the University of Liverpool Libraries will change.

The University shuts down for Christmas on Friday 20 December and both the Harold Cohen Library and Sydney Jones Library will close at 9pm on this day.

Then over the Christmas period the buildings will be open for selected hours which you can see below.

There will be minimal staff working from 20 December until 1 January, with no helpdesk services. However, self-service options will still be available.

Festive opening hours:

  • Friday 20 December: Both libraries closing at 9pm
  • Saturday 21 December: buildings open 8.30am - 6pm
  • Sunday 22 December: buildings open 8.30am - 6pm
  • Monday 23 December: buildings open 8.30am - 6pm
  • Tuesday 24 December: Closed
  • Wednesday 25 December: Closed
  • Thursday 26 December: Closed
  • Friday 27 December: building open 8.30am - 6pm
  • Saturday 28 December: building open 8.30am - 6pm
  • Sunday 29 December: building open 8.30am - 6pm
  • Monday 30 December: building open 8.30am - 6pm
  • Tuesday 31 December: Closed
  • Wednesday 1 January 2025: Closed
  • Thursday 2 January 2025: Both libraries open at 9am. Normal opening hours resume.

Leahurst campus library will be closed throughout the festive period. View the latest opening hours for all libraries
