Harold Cohen to Temporarily Close over Christmas Break

by University of Liverpool Library on 2022-12-01T08:59:00+00:00 | 0 Comments

The Harold Cohen Library will now re-open at 8.30am on Thursday 6th January. We apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused. The Sydney Jones Library is open 24/7 as normal.

The Harold Cohen Library will close at 6pm on Friday 16th December for essential accessibility building works at the entrance. Harold Cohen will re-open at 8.30am on Tuesday 3rd January.

Students and staff can still access all online services and use the Sydney Jones Library for working, borrowing / returning books, ‘Click and Collect’ etc. Please check the Library opening hours page before you visit.

Closing the Harold Cohen Library over this quieter period will enable us to complete the work as quickly as possible, with the least amount of disruption to students.

Kerry Noon, Head of Customer Services, comments “We want our Libraries to be accessible to everyone and this necessary work is one step closer to achieving this. Our Libraries are usually much quieter over the Christmas break as many students leave Liverpool, so we knew this was the right decision, and anybody staying in Liverpool can still access all of our services.”

We advise that you borrow any books before 16th December, however we will operate a ‘Click and Collect’ service from the Sydney Jones Library for any books requested after Friday 16th December, although there may be some delay when fulfilling requests.

Book Zone 3 (Ground Floor Rear) will be closing from 8th December, which will impact book class numbers QA74.2 - QP34.5. We encourage students to take books out from this area before the 8th December, though they will still be accessible through our Click & Collect service from the Sydney Jones.

If you have any concerns or questions, please get in touch!
