Introducing Article Galaxy Scholar: Faster Access to Research at Your Fingertips

by Emma Taylor on 2025-02-06T16:26:00+00:00 | 0 Comments

The library is pleased to announce the launch of Article Galaxy Scholar, a new tool designed to enhance our existing content delivery services.  As we transition from print journals to online subscriptions, this shift highlights a more efficient way to provide access to scholarly content.

Integrated seamlessly into Library Search, Article Galaxy Scholar will make it easier to access journal articles not included in our current subscriptions or with incomplete holdings. By doing so, it will further expand and diversify our collections, providing broader access to essential research materials.

The service allows us to meet the immediate research needs of academics and researchers while managing library budgets sustainably. By delivering articles in real time via email, typically within one to two minutes, Article Galaxy Scholar provides a rapid solution when access to an article is urgent. This service supplements current journal subscriptions and supports evidence-based decision-making for future collection development.

All registered University of Liverpool academic staff with a valid MWS account can use Article Galaxy Scholar at no charge. However, while it’s free for you, this service is more costly for the library than traditional interlibrary loan. If your request is not urgent, we encourage you to use our Get It For Me service, which has an established 12-hour turnaround.

To get started and explore how to use the service, please consult our Article Galaxy Scholar guide.
