Keep the Libraries a safe space for everyone

We are very grateful to the vast majority of students who have visited the libraries in recent weeks and have taken extra care to adhere to the safety policies in place. Policies and restrictions are in place to stop the spread of coronavirus and to protect those who may be more vulnerable than you.

As a reminder, we ask that you familiarise yourself with the current health and safety policies to adhere to when using the libraries to keep you and the rest of the university community safe.

Your Responsibilities

When visiting the libraries or other study spaces on campus you are required to wear a face mask at all times, including when seated, unless you are medically exempt. If you are exempt, you can arrange to collect a sunflower lanyard by emailing sscrec@liverpool.ac.uk.

Currently, group study space is not available, even for members of the same household, so please ensure that you practise social distancing at all times.

If you are visiting the libraries or any other spaces made available through the Library booking system, you must book a seat in advance.

It is important that you check in within 30 minutes of your booking time to secure your seat or the booking will be cancelled, and the space will be made available for another student.

Please also remember to check out when you leave as this means that your space will become available for another student to book and will avoid unnecessary empty seats.

Our commitment to you

Our staff are working hard to make study spaces as safe as possible for all users so please be respectful and show them support by doing your part to help keep everyone safe.

Study spaces are socially distanced to keep you safe and cleaning materials are provided for you to wipe down your study space before and after your visit. Books can be returned to the libraries by dropping them off in the book return boxes where they will be quarantined for 72 hours. We are also operating a Click & Collect service to ensure that you can access the resources that you need quickly and safely.

At present, staff are not available in person to offer a face-to-face enquiry service in the libraries, however, you can contact the library team 24/7 by emailing library@liverpool.ac.uk or contact us on Library chat.

Let’s work together

Thank you for your support in keeping our staff and each other safe while we continue to provide study spaces for you across campus. We must all work together to reduce the spread of the virus and protect each other and the wider community.
