Digitisation Service: Canvas MOT

Canvas MOT Service

The Library offers a Canvas MOT service. This service is aimed at checking Canvas to make sure that any uploaded resource materials such as PDFs are copyright compliant. We will provide feedback, support and guidance about the resources stored there.

As part of the service, the Library will:

• Check PDFs are copyright compliant under the terms of our Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) Licence giving you security.
• Try to obtain alternative permission, where resources are not covered by the CLA Licence.
• Advise where PDFs should be replaced by a link, where the Library holds those resources electronically, ensuring a smoother experience for your students.
• Replace scans with high quality, OCR accessible versions for students with disabilities.

While our Canvas MOT Service will focus on PDF materials, we are also a point of contact to offer advice and help with any enquiries you might have regarding the use of others’ work within your course materials, such as PowerPoint slides and handbooks.
