The University contracts Kids in Bloom to provide high quality, flexible childcare at a purpose built Children’s Centre with a limited number of 36 week contracts for taught students.

The Mature Student Bursary is for students entering the University aged 25 or above prior to the first day of the academic year (1st September), who are embarking on their first degree of study and are not in receipt of any other University financial award.

Liverpool Guild of Students British Sign Language Society aims to help the development of BSL skills for those interested in learning.

Physical barriers to the University campus can include steps, steep slopes, the availability of lifts, accessible toilets, or accessible parking spaces. Some buildings are completely accessible, however some others have partial access or no access at all. To ensure that people with physical disabilities or disabilities which impact on mobility and travel around campus know what the access is of the buildings they work, study or live in, as well as university services, we provide a number of disability access guides to campus.

The Disabled Staff Network is a forum for consultation and discussion of University policy affecting University staff with regard to disability issues, raising awareness of disability issues, networking and providing support to disabled staff across the University. It is open to all University staff with an interest in disability issues.

Advance HE’s Athena Swan Charter was established in 2005 to encourage and recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) employment in higher education and research.

Aurora aims to encourage a wide range of women in academic and professional roles to think of themselves as leaders, to develop leadership skills and to help institutions maximise the potential of these women. The programme is delivered as a mixture of development days, self-directed learning and work with a mentor.

The Female Early Career Researchers Network has been formed in response to evidence from focus groups that female researchers in the early stages of their career would benefit from additional support.

LivWiSE celebrates, supports and promotes women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). We organise events, lectures, networking and development opportunities and work closely with industry partners, women in science and STEMM organisations.
