Contents: Written by Augustinus Maton, notary, at Rome, February 1533. Title in Spanish: Libro de las Indulgentias de las Iglesias de Roma, y Fundation del Altar Priuilegiado Del denor sant Sebastian deste Conuento. Executed for the monastery of St James of Pallars.

Decoration: Miniatures, borders, illuminated initials.

Binding: Original binding of blind-tooled calf over pulpboard conserved by Ian Maver (2002 citation below), lifting vellum endleaves to which a chemise of modern red velvet had been adhered.

Provenance 1533-1533: dated note in Spanish by scribe, and contemporary note in Spanish on f.53r: "Esta es la fundacion del altar priuilegiado ... en el qual altar se ganan toada las indulge[n]tias q ay concedias ... a la iglesia de Sant Sebastian de Roma ad Catecumbas ..."

Provenance 1546-1546: dated note in Catalan on f.59r, a record of its being pledged to Mossen Bertomeu de [Puigmido?] by the monastery of S. James of Pallars: notary Francesch Solsona, notary public of Barchino [Barcelona], 17 June 1546.

Provenance 1945-1945: Presented to the University of Liverpool by Miss C. G. (Catherine Gladys) Coltart in 1945. University of Liverpool Accession no. G17640.
