Detail of MS.F.4.11: Registrum breviumPhysical description: On parchment. iii + 321 + ii leaves, frame ruling and some medieval foliation. 270 x 190 mm.

Contents: Formulary of original and judicial writs, chiefly of Edward III and Richard II.

Decoration: Initials: f.1 5-line blue with red; 3-line and 2-line unfilled, some some spaces left.

Binding: conserved by Ian Maver (see 2002 citation below), previously in a 'utilitarian' non-contemporary binding - 18th c, tanned sheepskin over millboards.

Provenance 1863-1863: Inscriptions: Mr J. B. Hostage and John Hostage Chester 1863.
