Manuscript waste (fragments in printed books)

Manuscript fragments, from tiny strips used as a sewing support, to whole leaves used as pastedowns or bindings, are found in many of the printed books in the collections. The records for these books in the Library catalogue give details of any manuscript fragments discovered, under the term: manuscript waste.
