Following the successful reopening of study spaces in the Harold Cohen Library at the start of this month, we are now delighted to reopen a limited number of bookable study spaces in the Sydney Jones Library for University staff and students. Unfortunately, due to limited study spaces we cannot admit external visitors or SCONUL users at this time.
Both libraries are open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. Staff and students visiting the libraries can use bookable study spaces, access printers and collect books reserved using the Click & Collect service.
At this time there will be no access to the book stacks for browsing or borrowing. For all book requests please continue to use the Click & Collect service.
Please be aware that some services, such as vending machines and hot water taps, may be temporarily unavailable during your visit. If you wish to use a laptop we recommend that you bring your own as the library is currently unable to loan laptops.
We are following government and University guidance and are committed to ensuring that the library is a safe space for everyone. Measures are in place to limit the risk to staff and students including clearly marked directional systems, socially distanced study spaces, building occupancy limits and provision of hand sanitiser and other cleaning materials.
For the safety of our colleagues and other users, please wear a face mask while inside the library. We also strongly recommend that you maintain social distancing; wipe down study spaces and equipment using the cleaning materials provided; and dispose of your rubbish after your visit.
For further information, please see the University Guidance.
Whether you are visiting the libraries or using the Library online, you can still get in touch with us online via our online chat or by emailing library@liverpool.ac.uk.
