Flexible Working Policy

Flexible working describes any working pattern where the number of hours worked or the times when work takes place vary from the standard practice for a post.

The University recognises that flexible working patterns can benefit both staff and the organisation, helping staff achieve a better balance between their home and work responsibilities and enabling departments to structure working patterns around the peaks and troughs of demands.

Below are a series of key documents and guides to support managers when dealing with flexible working requests. We have provided a process map highlighting the key stages and timescales within the process. This must be used alongside the flexible working manager guide and flexible working policy which provide full details to support each stage of the process.
