The Librarian supporting online programmes, Dr Paul Catherall can provide advice, one-to-one help and training on a range of issues using the Library remotely, online or overseas.

Note - if you are studying a programme taught directly by a school (or insitute) you can contact the Liasion Librarian for your department.

  • Schedule a consulation (to meet via Microsoft Teams) - book a Library consultation with Paul to meet using Microsoft Teams (available approx. 9am - 5pm GMT/BST weekdays) - after booking you will be automatically sent an MS Teams link to join the session.
  • Staff or students can also book a planned group session, please use use the booking form and specify your required group session requirements such as session topic, location if oncampus, number of atendees and other needs.

Topics your Librarian can support include:

  • Using the Library, Searching for or locating resources.
  • Reading list support.
  • Using ejournals, ebooks, theses and dissertations, reports, data, legal, health and market sources.
  • Referencing styles, citation software, developing your bibliography.
  • Literature searching, using databases/ collections and Open Access resources.
  • Technical, connectivity or ongoing issues accessing Library platforms.
  • Staff or module development guidance and support.

Please ensure you have installed Microsoft Teams for voice or video calling (this is also useful for demonstrations via screen sharing), you can alternatively schedule a consultation by telephone, however this is not recommended for longer sessions or demonstrations.
